The Congregation of the Antonine Sisters is a Lebanese, Maronite Catholic and an Apostolic Order.

 

Responding to the needs of the Lebanese Community in Melbourne, the Congregation sent four Sisters who arrived in Australia on 17th October 1980.

 

The Sisters began work to establish a Child Care Centre, which was funded by the Federal Government and supported by the Lebanese Community.

 

The Anotnine Sisters Child Care Centre was officially opened on Sunday 16th November 1986 by then Minister for Commuity Services the Honorable Don Grimes, His Grace Abdou Khalife Maronite Bishop of Australia, and the Antonine Sisters Mother General Clemence Helou.
